THE DILEMMA

Possums are a lawfully protected species, protected from silliness. You can't harm them, you can't relocate them, all for good reason.

So we must rely on native gardens and maintain our roofs once every 10-15 years. Roof space possum interlopers can be professionally evicted and excluded from re-entry. Possums may use alternative nest sites as man and nature influence their numbers through the availability of food, warmth and shelter.

Facing adversity in the bush, mothers may sacrifice their young in order to survive themselves whilst juveniles attempting to establish themselves may not make it. The suburbs are more generous.
It is not the animal but what it does that may offend, whose fault is that?
